Tmj disorder....im going to see my oral surgeon for a consultation about my tmj to look at my options.....?
Even tho its only a consultation can he prescribe me something for this pain?....ive never had pain like this in my life.my face hurts.my jaw of course is killing me.and i have been having horrible migraines.......so do u think he will prescribe me pain meds?????

He will probably make a mouthguard for you to wear.
You should get relief with that within a week or so.
I doubt he would prescribe painkillers.

I've had these problems as well, and pain meds aren't really the best solution. They're temporary, and especially with TMJ Disorder, it's very easy to get hooked.
