Why do companies think I own a business when I don't?

I keep getting pre approved business credit card applications, workplace group insurance ads, business internet/telephone service ads in the mail and other business related thing. I have never owned my own business. Why do companies think I own my own business and is there a way to find out where they are getting their info that makes them think I own a business?

Update:

Credit report is clean, (2 open credit cards and a vehicle loan) am only one listed at this address and have been for last 10 years.

Make sure someone didn't steal your information. Sounds like you could of been hacked or identity theft. Or it could of been something your signed up online and there selling your information.

Check your credit report to see what is going on. Have you ever been a victim of ID theft?

There could be a number of reasons; someone else at your address, or someone else with your name had a business. This is annoying, but harmless.

If someone stole your ID and started a business, you can have big tax problems.

    Check your credit report.
