How do you react to Rachel Maddow's assertion that the Herman Cain campaign is performance art?

I think she put her finger on it. We have always had a few candidates who run just for the fun of it. I'm betting he's as surprised as anyone that he's been taken so seriously for so long.

Rachel Maddow has a noted habit of irritating the wrong by being right on target with her statements and her lack of fear to "call a spade a spade".

Since Cain has repeatedly demonstrated his irresponsible and reckless disregard for what the people want, then anything she says about him is most likely true. Since, unlike the kool-aid drinkers at Faux news, she actually backs up her statements by fact checking and presenting the recorded evidence.

She may be a bit too hopeful that Cain is just doing performance art, though and I wouldn't blame her for believing so, since he is quite the parody of the GOP/Tea party.

all the early republicans candidates are performance art, of a sort.

They bring out the rabid fools first, to get the base all whipped up and excited for the next election cycle-.

Is anyone really suppose to take Michelle Bachmann SERIOUSLY for a candidate as PRESIDENT???? Why is she even invited to debates? Why is anyone funding her? No one is investigating her, because NO ONE is taking her the least bit seriously.

It's laughable. Its just a show for their own base. Performance art. So when they finally have to pick Romney.......it will look like they weeded out the best candidate.

he's the only one with a REMOTE chance, by far. The only serious candidate in the whole bunch.

Naw, not performance art. An attempt to buy the election, maybe, but not performance art.

isn't he the Republican from Massachusetts? nicely i admire Rachel Maddow. i think of she ought to completely beat Scott Brown, yet i do no longer think of she needs the pay cut back Rachel Maddow is a robust candidate against Scott so he's utilising her to get extra donations via fearmongering funraisers

Who better to comment on "performance art" than the clueless leftist performance queen herself.
