If a 34yr old 215lb man walks on treadmill for 1 Hr and machine says 1000 cal burn then how much weight burned?

Does this 1000 cal burn burn two lbs perhaps? If one does this each day for a week with eating 2000 cal meals then would you burn x lbs per week?

    A 1000kcal burn is a little over 1/4lb the calorific value of fat. That said, a 1000kcal burn in 1hr is not going to come from walking on a treadmill. I do some seriously hard core cardio routines and only some of those come close the the 1000kcal per hour; I think the cardio kettle-bell routine is the highest I've ever recorded and it ain't significantly higher than you are claiming for walking.

    each pound of fat is worth 3600 calories. However it's not as simple as burning that amount of calories looses that amount of weight. To calculate it you need this formula

    Total calories eaten - total calories burned =calorie deficit (this should be a negative number if you're loosing weight)

    Total calorie burned is from any exercise you do, plus the calories you burn every day from breathing, heart beat and warmth. This is called you BMR (basic metabolic rate)

    So for every 3600 calorie deficit you'll loose one pound. This will usually take more than one day. Most dietitians recommend you arm to burn no more than 2 pounds a week.

    I know this may seem complicated, and like a lot of work. But really it's quite simple when you figer it out. Good luck with your weight loss!

    sorry to break it to u 1lbs =3500 calories and it all depends every ones diffrent i burned 900 calroies a day ate 1700 calories a day and lost 3lbs per week some people will eat 2000 calories a day burn 600 though exercise and still lose 5lbs a week it all depends on ur body theres not exact formula to go by just eat less exercise more u will lose weight

    It's impossible to burn 1000 calories by walking for an hour, it's more like 50 calories.
