Well he's not really a stranger since you've been working with him awhile so I wouldn't say it's a bad idea or anything. I would advise you to just be Very, Very careful with your actions. Some relationships (sexual or not) end horribly in the workplace. I work with my ex, and thankfully, we keep it professional and it's not awkward at all.
