Yahoo homepage display problem?
Inexplicably the news module on my Yahoo home page display using Internet Explorer changed. It went from a small, single compact box with a few top world, national and local news stories to several large modules of seperate news feeds with sports, entertainment, finance, science and a bunch of crap I never look at. All of the instructions I can find to adjust the display tell me to click on "page option" tabs which are not on this current wierd version of Yahoo. How do I return my yahoo homepage to the "compact" version?

Close all programs you are currently running and back up your work.Open up Mozilla Firefox, then Click the "Tools" menu on the top and "Clear Private Data." Try to open up any page in Yahoo, or the offending page that would not open. If this opens up without a problem, you have the solution and do not need to go onto any of the following steps.

Run any antivirus or antispyware scan software you have installed on your computer. This can often be the source of problems with internet pages not opening and can repair Firefox problems.

Bring up Yahoo in Mozilla Firefox even though it will not display. Then, either print out or record the error message in full on paper. If you are able to, it is probably best to print out the full error message so you do not miss any digits. This must be exact.

Type in the error message in a search bar. You may be given many options, so be sure to scroll through and check them out. Read the message boards related to your error.

Try to download and install any "fixes" or "tools" related to your particular error message. These are meant to repair the problem or conflict that is occurring with yahoo. These should always be free of charge.

Restart your computer so the tool has the full effect and a chance to work. Then, attempt to open up Yahoo once again. Your Yahoo page should display normally and the Firefox repair should be complete.
