Uniform ticket scam from the New York State police. Please Help!!?

I opened this email scam, as I often drive through NY, (and speed as well). I also opened the attachment, (stupid of me, I know), however nothing happened to my computer. Should I be concerened? what could have downloaded in the background and what should I do about it? I researched the scam and leared that it downloads mal-ware and a virius, but I haven't noticed anything. Here's a link to what I opened:

http://www.hoax-slayer.com/traffic-ticket-malware.... However, they don't say what to do if you a dumb enough, (like I was), to open it. Please help!!!

Update:

The link is to a report about the scam, not the scam itself! I'm not an idiot!!

    Go to

    http://shop.malwarebytes.org/lpa/342/3/7268/index_...

and download the free version of malwarebytes.

After loading make sure it is up to date then run it. Do a full scan, like overnight. It gets rid of this malware and most others.

Good rule of thumb though, NEVER open an attachment from someone you don't know, NEVER.

Also, if it's a good malware program you wouldn't notice anything, but while you're checking your Greendot acccount, your Pay Pal, banking online, paying bills, ordering things off the internet, they're most likely collecting your info, you could very well wake up tomorow either broke, or have had your identity stolen.

There's many good malware programs out there, a lot of them free, I've been using Advanced System Care for a year now and am very happy, I use it every day to manually sweep, clean, and defrag my computer, and it also automatically sweeps when you turn your computer on, I'm very happy with it.

This program finds everything that might be lurking, try it out, I think you'll be pleased with the results, good luck. WiL

You have clearly stated "Here's a link to what I opened" leading people to believe that is the site you were warned against. No one is going to open that and I think you're the idiot for thinking someone will. You're making a false accusation about the New York State Police...you should be reported and arrested.

why would you provide a link to a malware site? you won't notice any change in your computer, the virus/malware makes it possible for your personal info, passwords and pin#'s to be stolen. change all your personal info, passwords etc.
