Has BMW fixed hpfp issue?
My wife and I were forced to sell our beloved 335i after multiple failed hpfp replacements.
We would really like to purchase a new 535i in the future, but are wondering if BMW has sorted out the mess.

well i am on e90post.com (a forum) all the time, and the number of hpfp replacements has gone down dramatically. no one even mentions them anymore, i swear i've nearly forgotten about it.
my 335i has had its replaced twice, and it's really not THAT bad of an experience. regardless, i hope you were satisfied with the lemon buy back from the dealer.
a new 535i will come with the n55 engine which has one turbo instead of two. bmw supposedly fixed the hpfp problem, but its been seen where a pump has failed.
Nevertheless, any modern 35i with the newest pump will drive like a champ. The problem was most prevalent from 07-09, but a new pump is all that's needed now.
No one outside of bmw knows the reason behind the pump failures, but bmw seems to have taken care of it when they came out with the voluntary recall. Pretty much, someone told a news station to air a segment on the fuel pump, and bmw got off its butt and put out a voluntary recall.
