Why doesn't evolution make sence to me?

One of the problems many people face in arguing against evolution (of any kind) is that it somehow argues against any creation story (such as that found in Genesis). Evolution is nothing more or less than change that occurs in living biological entities over time from generation to generation.

Since change happens (as evidenced by new varieties of plants and breeds of animals), we know that change is a fact.

The theories (there are several) are our best attempt at explaining how those changes take place and under which conditions changes can occur. Tests are devised using the parameters of the theory and the results validate the theory.

Origin of the Species is an old book and new discoveries in the fossil record have modified and continue to modify evolutionary charts (trees). One of the major problems that science faces is that the fossil record is anything but complete and so there are ongoing attempts to extrapolate the various steps in the charts, along with their associated branches.

According to the best efforts of science, does not declare that man (humans) descended from the apes, monkeys, chimpanzees, or any other currently known primate, but that we shared a common ancestor with our contemporary primate cousins. The split in the chart occurs around 250,000 years ago, give or take.

The current theory suggests that all life evolved from a "first life" that was somehow generated by some occurrence in nature. In natural science, abiogenesis or biopoesis is the study of how biological life arises from inorganic matter through natural processes, and the method by which life on Earth arose. Most amino acids, often called "the building blocks of life", can form via natural chemical reactions unrelated to life, as demonstrated in the Miller–Urey experiment and similar experiments that involved simulating some of the hypothetical conditions of the early Earth in a laboratory. In all living things, these amino acids are organized into proteins, and the construction of these proteins is mediated by nucleic acids, that are themselves synthesized through biochemical pathways catalyzed by proteins. Which of these organic molecules first arose and how they formed the first life is the focus of abiogenesis.

Evolutionary Biology is the study of evolution, or change across successive generations in the heritable characteristics of biological populations. Evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level of biological organization, including species, individual organisms and molecules such as DNA and proteins.

Darwin proposed a theory of evolution by natural selection and saw it as an important cause of evolution. Evolution by natural selection is a consequence of three widely accepted premises: 1) more offspring are produced than can possibly survive, 2) traits vary among individuals, leading to differential rates of survival and reproduction, and 3) trait differences are heritable.

There are some problems inherent in the "natural selection" process, but it is evidenced to a greater or lessor degree by the Mule, a product of a horse and donkey breeding together. Currently, mules are considered to be sterile, not able to produce any offspring of their own, but it is entirely possible that at some future time, such may take place, thus supporting the "natural selection" concept. There are similar events in the plant world, where sterile offspring are produced by cross-pollinating two similar varieties of plants that are decidedly different, but carry similar characteristics to their "parents".

It should be noted that "natural selection" is used by biologists to produce new varieties of plant life and new breeds of animals. While this man-caused selection is not random (as suggested by the concept of "natural selection") it proves that new varieties and breeds can be produced, thus providing additional validity to the theory as it is currently stated.

Natural selection is the only known cause of adaptation, but not the only known cause of evolution. Other, non-adaptive causes of evolution include mutation and genetic drift.

The problem that you have is in questioning the idea that everything came from one point. You are not the first or only person to suggest that "first life" may have occurred two or more times and that each produced its own biological "map" through evolution.

The fields of study that encompass "first life" as well as the fields that encompass change (evolution) are part of the ongoing study of life on earth. There is plenty that we do not understand and plenty that we continue to discover.

Keep in mind that Edison took 2,000 attempts to produce the first electric light bulb. He found 2,000 ways in which a light bulb could not be produced. The same is true of any field of study in science.

You're missing a key point. We're talking about hundreds of millions of years. And we're not talking about beavers turning into whales, we're talking about an original single celled organism being a common ancestor. Just one cell, like a stem cell, that, over an IMMENSE amount of time, has adapted to its environment in the same way that humans who come from sunnier parts of the world have darker skin. All organisms on earth adapt to their environment, and eventually those adaptations become mutations, and a small percentage of those mutations are successful and are passed onto future generations.

The monkeys you see today are not our ancestors. They may have similar ancestors, but they simply took a different evolutionary path.

Sure the sense of your own mind is relevant to whatever ideas you arrive at.

Science has already proven your DNA determines what you will be.

Alter the Dna and you may end up a flying wizard with wings and a horses tail or whatever.

Cosmos radiation could alter your nature. Radiation can cause mutation and alter your natural cells.

Incest is a bad mix and the offspring can ended up retarded or distorted mentally in some way.

Evolution means to change and there is nothing more constant than change every second of

every day.

If you change a rats environment over millions of years the rat will evolve into a beaver, and a muskrat.

You have been reading fundie captions and actually believing them. Try reading actual science and it makes sense.

Because a rat never evolved into a whale, or a beaver, or a muskrat. They split off from each other many millions of years ago when they were still probably extremely simple organisms.

Could Darwin's tree of life be wrong? Of course, but all the evidence points to the contrary.

I assume you don't just mean I'm taking a guess which supports my religious beliefs because I don't understand the scientific evidence.

God created(Creation) Adam, He took one of Adam's ribs and made Eve (Evolution). There is no science in this or creation, it has always existed.

Evolution doesn't make sense to you because you clearly don't understand it.

We didn't evolve from apes -- we share a common ancestor with them.

This is a backdoor re-introduction of Creationism and their falsified notion of "kinds". All life is connected through DNA. Discrete branches with their own beginnings don't exist.
