Isn't it funny how atheists say 'the only thing we have in common is our lack of belief in a deity' and yet..?

Isn't it funny how atheists say 'the only thing we have in common is our lack of belief in a deity' and yet..?

almost all of them have fixed views on certain topics. (do not deny this, since anybody here can verify this)

All the atheists I've talked to believe...

1) Chickens are birds.

2) Ice is cold.

3) The sky is blue

4) Doctors practise medicine

5) The Crusades are a historical fact.

6) That Portugal is real.

7) Brazilian waxes are painful, but the results are worth it.

8) Science contributes to better tasting cheese

9) Imaginary friends are unreal.

.

.

.

etc. (I could go on)

You guys have a set of common BELIEFS, and Richard Dawkins' books function as your Sacred Book, and I can see dogma in your behavior.

You are a cult. You are a social group. There is nothing individualistic about you guys. Get over it.

Just because I have read some of Dawkins' books like The Blind Chicken, The Selfish Doctor, The Portugal Delusion and Climbing Mount Brazilian, that doesn't mean I get all my ideas from him.

I know you're trolling, but I feel the need to answer anyway.

Whatever atheists have in common beyond the disbelief in god is coincidence.

    Atheism is defined as:

    Without belief in god.

    It's not defined as:

Without belief in god AND the belief that chickens are birds, ice is cold, the sky is blue (which it isn't always), doctors practice medicine (which they all don't someone with a doctorate in history is not a surgeon), the crusades are a historical fact, Portugal is real, Brazilian waxes are painful, but the results are worth it, Science contributes to better tasting cheese, and Imaginary friends are unreal.

Source(s): PS I'm an atheist, and I think Richard Dawkins is a tool with a loud mouth, I've never read his book, and I don't care to. I'm just an atheist, he's an anti-theist. I see no need to get all up in arms about the disbelief in something the way he does,

The sky is not blue. It only appears blue as that is the color most easily perceived by the human eye and so is the color that stands out to us from all the colors reflected from the water onto the ozone.

I also know nothing about this Dawkins dude.

    Stop generalizing.

You have compiled a list that almost everyone agrees on, religionists and atheists (with a few ridiculous exceptions thrown in, of course.)

I admire and respect Richard Dawkins much more than Jimmy Swaggart, thank you very much.

so are you saying religious people think your points 1-9 are completely different? that part was really not needed... you're a retarded little boy

i believe 1 -9 because they're real.... i'm not even sure what point your trying to make here...

also love how you're calling us a cult... you know with you having a leader telling you what's real and what to believe away from the truth

I see what you did there.

I'm totally starting a religion based on the belief that ice is cold. I'll call us iceitarians.

Yes but who is getting the Brazilian waxes? If it's me then I may have to disagree with your point.

    Christianity is technically a cult.

    Religions are technically big cults.
