Can eyelids cause blurred vision?
I have kerataconus, and I currently wear contact lenses to correct the problem. However, when I'm not wearing the lenses my sight is incredibly blurry. When I pull my eyelids slightly away so that they're not really touching my eyes, my vision suddenly becomes so much clearer. I mentioned this to my eye doctor and he just sort of shrugged it off. Is it just normal?

People do weird things with their eyes to see better. We are usually not sure why. Here are my best guesses. If you look through a pinhole, you will see clearly without your contacts. It is possible you are doing something with your lids to make a pin hole. If your cornea was flatter, you would see better. It is possible this is happening when you move your lids. I think the possibility of duplicating this effect long term are very slim.
