You can help to reduce the demand for fossil fuels, which in turn reduces global warming, by using energy more wisely. Here are 10 simple actions you can take to help reduce global warming.
1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Do your part to reduce waste by choosing reusable products instead of disposables. Buying products with minimal packaging (including the economy size when that makes sense for you) will help to reduce waste. And whenever you can, recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum cans. If there isn't a recycling program at your workplace, school, or in your community, ask about starting one. By recycling half of your household waste, you can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.
2. Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning
Adding insulation to your walls and attic, and installing weather ********* or caulking around doors and windows can lower your heating costs more than 25 percent, by reducing the amount of energy you need to heat and cool your home.
Turn down the heat while you're sleeping at night or away during the day, and keep temperatures moderate at all times. Setting your thermostat just 2 degrees lower in winter and higher in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.
3. Change a Light Bulb
Wherever practical, replace regular light bulbs with compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. Replacing just one 60-watt incandescent light bulb with a CFL will save you $30 over the life of the bulb. CFLs also last 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs, use two-thirds less energy, and give off 70 percent less heat.
If every U.S. family replaced one regular light bulb with a CFL, it would eliminate 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gases, the same as taking 7.5 million cars off the road.
4. Drive Less and Drive Smart
Less driving means fewer emissions. Besides saving gasoline, walking and biking are great forms of exercise. Explore your community mass transit system, and check out options for carpooling to work or school.
When you do drive, make sure your car is running efficiently. For example, keeping your tires properly inflated can improve your gas mileage by more than 3 percent. Every gallon of gas you save not only helps your budget, it also keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.
5. Buy Energy-Efficient Products
When it's time to buy a new car, choose one that offers good gas mileage. Home appliances now come in a range of energy-efficient models, and compact florescent bulbs are designed to provide more natural-looking light while using far less energy than standard light bulbs.
Avoid products that come with excess packaging, especially molded plastic and other packaging that can't be recycled. If you reduce your household garbage by 10 percent, you can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.
6. Use Less Hot Water
Set your water heater at 120 degrees to save energy, and wrap it in an insulating blanket if it is more than 5 years old. Buy low-flow showerheads to save hot water and about 350 pounds of carbon dioxide yearly. Wash your clothes in warm or cold water to reduce your use of hot water and the energy required to produce it. That change alone can save at least 500 pounds of carbon dioxide annually in most households. Use the energy-saving settings on your dishwasher and let the dishes air-dry.
7. Use the "Off" Switch
Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need. And remember to turn off your television, video player, stereo and computer when you're not using them.
It's also a good idea to turn off the water when you're not using it. While brushing your teeth, shampooing the dog or washing your car, turn off the water until you actually need it for rinsing. You'll reduce your water bill and help to conserve a vital resource.
8. Plant a Tree
If you have the means to plant a tree, start digging. During photosynthesis, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. They are an integral part of the natural atmospheric exchange cycle here on Earth, but there are too few of them to fully counter the increases in carbon dioxide caused by automobile traffic, manufacturing and other human activities. A single tree will absorb approximately one ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime.

When I was a child in grade school (back before Independence), they taught we were just coming out of an ice age, and the glacial melt caused the Great Lakes only 20,000 or so years earlier... then in high-school (back before electricity) they taught that very same thing... now voila, we have 50 years later an all new and improved reason for the warming. They are now claiming that Man is causing atmospheric greenhouse gas buildup by burning fossil fuels, and that buildup is directly causing what is now being identified as Global Warming. Fact: the warming has been here and inevitable for centuries, way before the development of fossil fuel energy.
Here are the stark realities: Natural solar cycles and Earth orbit inconsistencies (see Milankovich Earth orbit studies and Vostok ice core analysis within Tschumi and Stauffer climate studies ), are causing normal cyclic atmospheric warming and cooling and no change in mans contribution to atmospheric pollution from whatever source will have any appreciable effect on these influences, no matter what the “government paid experts” say. Nothing on this earth can burn without giving off Co2 except pure Hydrogen, but the energy required to create it in usable quantities and purity is more than the energy it can produce (a little fact they don’t tell you about Hydrogen). Even a 10% reduction in energy use worldwide will cause total economic chaos, which will trickle down to a lot of freezing starving people, or create mass human migration to more tropical areas. Global Warming has become a chant used by the powers that be, and the powers that want to be. Ignore them…. It is just another political power grab. Remember the ozone holes? What ever happened to them?

The only way to prevent global warming is to keep the sun's output at a constant rate. The sun has more to do with the temperature of the earth then all of man. Think about this, scientist tell us that the earth has gone through numerous ice ages. Somehow the earth warmed enough to get us to where we are now without one bit of man made input. Now scientist ( look at who funds the research ) want us to believe that man is able to affect the climate of the earth. The earth goes through cycles of warming and cooling and has long before man created pollution. Many will say that the earth's climate is changing faster sue to man. How do we know this? Man has only kept accurate records for about 100 years so we have a small base of knowledge to work from. Pollution is never a good idea so anything we can do to keep the earth clean is good but not the radical ideals talked about, but not lived by, Al Gore and his followers

We can help to reduce the demand for fossil fuels to reduce global warming, by using energy more wisely. Actions we can take to help reduce global warming are:
1)Reduce, Reuse, Recycle 2)Change a Light Bulb 3)Buy Energy-Efficient Products
4)Use Less Hot Water 5)Plant Trees 6)Encourage Others to Conserve 7)Use the "Off" Switch
The cost of controlling greenhouse gas emissions worldwide & avoiding the most serious effects of global warming is affordable and would be partially offset by economic gains and other benefits, according to a group of the world’s leading climate scientist.

Since it's the sun that heats our planet you would have to turn down the temperature of the sun. But be careful. In the past when the sun cooled we got ice ages.
Or you can do what Al Gore does. Fly around in a private jet and tell people not to use private jets because they cause global warming. Use 20 times as much electricity in your house as anyone else and then tell people to use less electricity because it causes global warming. Buy a mansion on the beach beside the ocean and warn people that global warming is causing the oceans to rise and will flood the shores.
I know that makes him sound kinda stupid but if I could get paid the same $100 million he got to promote global warming I could be stupid too. Shucks, some days I am stupid for free. Imagine how stupid I could be for millions of $.

IT IS A SHOCKING TRUTH THAT WE CANT ! ! !
Because for every unit of energy saved the gloabal automobile industry is taking away more. Please look into the figures of Q2 results for the China and Indian Auotmobile companies. Year over year more people start using fossil fuels for automobiles / gensets / cooking / industry /.... So the only way to reduce is to control the population growth ! Which we all know is a pipe dream. Our present technologies to harvest energy from non fossil fuels is still need to go a long way for many reasons. Nuclear enrgy has proven to be a silent satan. So it should also be ruled out.
Personally try an answer for this:
Can you sell your vechicle and start using the public transport from tomorrow ? ? ? !
You get angry ! thinking about it, that is what every TomTina, DickDorathy and HarryHillary is doing !
Every city is expanding ! so forest reserves are shrinking ! More Artic and Antartic ice is melting ! So will be the Ozone holes expansion !!!
Who cares ! Look at Thailand floods, It is an early sign of the future water world ! It started snowing heavily in the month of October in the US making records ! Humans want more 'luxurious' life so need more energy !
Who will bell the cat ! (No the cat will die before that happens also the rats along with it). Just a week before the global population crossed 7 billionth mark !!!! From now on the growth will compound and accelerate to a point where there wont be enough food and end up in war/famine and thus goes the population !
Then only way possible for near future is to stop the population growth ! by which consumption will go down, By which emissions will go down !
The effect of green house gas will be more pronounced in coming decade in form of jittery climate, extreme weather, historic floods, extreme heat / cold, ....
The funny part will be the Insurers will be bankcrupt ! and no more AIGs and NewyorkMaxs !

In order to rapidly stop mankinds' flagrant atmospheric polluting would require governments' doing politically harmful steps, so it ain't gonna happen. Will they ration gas to make people park their cars and use mass transportation? NO!! Will they shut down coal burning power plants, resulting in the required disuse of electrical products? NO!! In developing nations, would they outlaw wood burning? NO!! Would they slash the massive amount of airplanes plying the slies NO!! In other words, are politicos anywhere going to do what is necessary NO!! What to do? Buy some sunburn protection, get used to UV protecting sunglasses, wear a huge wide brimmed hat or umbrella, learn how to stay cool without using AC units, and, don't have any kids, cuz who wants to condemn a person from living on Hell? In other words, our brakes have failed and were speeding right towards the cliff rim with nothing to do, bbut say bye bye!!

And the answer is with innovation. Yes, technological innovations are the most powerful lever for mitigating the effects of climate change and global warming. No climate-change strategy will work unless it is consistent with developing countries’ continued growth. So curbing emissions requires cheaper clean energy than is currently available. Siemens, a global engineering conglomerate, is a key player in this field. The company has an extensive green portfolio to combat climate change/global warming. Its extensive portfolio in the areas of power generation, distribution and utilization offers highly effective measures for reducing CO2 emissions.

You can't stop people preaching this bullshit because the American Constitution guarantees the freedom of Religion.
What you can do is insist that our Government make no law establishing AGW as a state religion.
I.e. tax laws funding Global Warming organizations are in violation of the sepration of Church & State.

i dont know how to write to write an essay about it with 10 paragraphs like others. sorry for just saying you simply.
we can use the electric vehicle and we can replace the light bulbs with light efficient fluoresent bulbs.
we must reduce the usage of refrigerator and computer and so on.
planting more trees is the best prevention for it. that's all i know . sorry for it.
