Savage or stevens? What happened is walmart ripping people off ive bought some good rifles from walmart ?

Walmart is selling what Savage packages. For any model they sell it will usually be a "value" version of that model. Just be glad you got an accutrigger. I have long heard Stevens as described as a Savage without an accutrigger, so it make sense that a Walmart Savage would seem like a Stevens with an accutrigger.

Savage is the top of the line from the manufacturer. Stephens is the step down. Both use the same action and barrel and both in that aspect are pretty much identical. They use the old molds and toolings for the stock. Both should shoot really really well.

You won't find an accutrigger on the stephens. If it has an accutrigger, it is a savage.

The edge axis line uses an entirely separate action from the above. The barrels are the same as the above. The cost savings is primarily in using the same action for both long and short, and reducing costs in the stock assembly. It is their 'budget' line in cost. It also will shoot really really well.
