Background to Legend of Zelda?

Link grows up as a kokiri in the woods. he becomes friends with zelda after being told to go meet her. not long after he first visits her she is captured by ganandorf who had pretended to be in allegence to to people of Hyrule. She leaves behind an Orcarina for you to use that comes in handy while going through multiple dungeons. the purpose of going through them is to collect the power of the sages. The sages consist of different elments like the forest. The traveling through time part is the hardest to explain. Little link gains entry in to the temple of time and is followed by gannon. Link dosn't know. Link finds the master sword in the back of the temple and when he pulls it he is kept there for 7 years before coming back into reality. So every time the sword is placed back into its original spot. Link travels back in time 7 years and every time he plucks it from it's spot he goes 7 years into the future.
