If China attacks Australia because of US military bases, would you fight back?

You're an idiot, China is passive with the threat of No. Korea on their border and does nothing, so attacking Taiwan then rippling to US bases in other countries such as Australia is absolutely nuts. China wants to play in world trade and economics, not war.

Australia will not be invaded by China for at least another twenty years. Many of us will not be around by then so it doesn't matter. There isn't much doubt that China will threaten world peace but surrounding nations will be stronger when it does happen. People are afraid of China. Like Germany in WWII if China stomps on a neighbor all of the other countries will be on them.

The only way I can see the usa attacking Australia is if they nationalize something like all mc Donald's. we would then have to defend our interests and take back our mc Donald's for Americans. Other countries would just watch because their rich guys would likely have interests needing defending too.

If I was able, I would fight to protect Australia from anyone. In my opinion, the people of Australia are great people and are our ally.

After a little more thought, being a Vietnam vet I would offer my help if they would take me with my disabilities.

China has a squillion more people than the U.S. and its too big to bomb the crap out of so while a bit of sabre rattling may go on I don't think the U.S. will be sending in the military.

Now mate , let's not get too carried away....as unlikely as your scenario is , if it gets to that stage it won't make a scrap of difference if we have 10,000 yanks here , 100,000 or none , we'll all be caught up in it anyway...

My guess is the real threat won't be in our part of the world but the Middle East is WW3 waiting to happen...

Recall, I see your scenario, and today you can not be apathetic, you have to be ready for all contingencies. If I'm not dead already, I would have no hesitation to fight beside an Australian.

I wonder if we would have time to organise a defense. "Tomorrow when the War Began' tells this scenario beautifully, the book, not the movie.
