Where exactly is the thermostat located on a vwgolf mk 3 1995?

There is a plastic housing with various water pipes going into it, would this be it, or is it located somewhere else. A photo would be a great help if possible.

    Find a garage to do the job for you, if you cant find the thermostat then you have not a hope in hell of changing it

    The thermostat is in a metal housing. Have you tried searching the net?

    I did, and it's there.

    usually in the housing where the top radiator hose meets the engine block.
