Do my children automatically have dual citizenship?

I am an american born citizen, my husband a spanish born citizen we have 3 year old triplets who were born in the US do they automatically have dual citizenship? Paperwork I neeed to file for them? Thank you!

    Yes. All you have to do to exercise the childrens' Spanish nationality is to apply for passports. Citizenship is automatic.

    They are american citizens because they were born here. If your husband still has citizenship with another country he can file for his kids to have citizenship in that other country it is not automatic. Be careful and research if that country allows dual citizenship.

    Yes, they do. You'll have to file paperwork with the Spanish Embassy.
