Serious Question: Mac vs. PC?

I really don't want this post to turn into a troll infested page.

I noticed that in many other posts, there were many windows haters as well as mac haters. I noticed that the mac haters immediately began to defend windows, and hate on mac. They said how building a pc would be much more cost effective, and much more powerful. The mac lovers then went on to protect mac, but did not retaliate as much. Is this because they have less to brag about, or because they aren't self centered assholes.

Update:

okay. please tell me what 2000 mac you are talking about, and how it isn't better than the 500 pc you are talking about. i am not siding with mac, i am just trying to be unbiased, and not exaggerate. Macs are known for their build quality, design, battery life, and operating system. Apple cannot be blamed for not licensing their operating system, because they not only design software, they design hardware, and applications as well. Also, putting an SSD inside your 350 laptop will definitely increase the speed, but how much did that cost you? Also, you don't find promo costs on Macs because they are almost exclusively sold by Apple. Your laptop was sold on Newegg.

also, orabus, i have no clue what you just said.

Update 2:

Can you explain how Apple has accepted defeat for the Mac?

Usually, it is because people will "hate" the company, rather than the product. Windows lovers (Mac Haters) believe that Apple is an "evil" company. As for Mac lovers (PC Haters), they would probably "hate" Microsoft. Personally, I am not a big fan of Apple. They charge people way too much money for products that are not so "open source," meaning that not too many developers code for it. I admit, I am a PC, but I do have some issues with Microsoft. Instead of charging thousands for a computer, they charge thousands on the software. Mac do not come with Microsoft software (without charge), but it does come preloaded with some of the best video editing software. Now do know this, when people say that "Macs don't get viruses," they're wrong, they do. The difference is, If only 10% of the population owns a Mac, compared to the PC, then why target a "no-man's" system? C and C++ have been very successful programming languages, and offers full development for PCs. This "easy" language style attracts developers. And because a PC is marketed better than a Mac is, more people go with Microsoft's PC.

Mac, however, has the best hardware in the business. Apple has done an extremely well job at piecing hardware together to give you the most efficient system in terms of speed (not power). Now you can build your own PC, and make it faster and stronger than a preloaded mac. This IS very cost effective, but will require a bigger machine, than a Mac theoretically would at the same level, using Apple's own hardware.

So, what made the PC so successful? The OS is on a disk, that can normally be loaded to any computer. Because Microsoft focused on software, not hardware (like Apple and IBM), third-party companies were able to develop cost-effective platforms and faster methods than one company who builds software and hardware,

Apple left the computer business to focus on their more effective strategy: mp3 players. The iPod was a huge success, and while Microsoft tried to enter that field (The Zune), Apple crushed Microsoft in the business. Apple still makes Macs, and builds new designs, but they accepted their defeat in the market.

Which ever computer you would like on your desktop, is your choice. Macs are very good for picture, video, and audio development. PCs are very good for business and document-based school work. Personally, I'm a PC. And to answer your question once more: Haters can be jerks. They are stubborn and crazy. I like both platforms, but grew with the PC, so that is my main choice. I don't know if this would help in your decision, but it is my statement, best as unbiased, I believe.

"Can you explain how Apple has accepted defeat for the Mac?"

Apple is not going to remove the Mac, nor stop development. Apple has realized they lost the personal computer market to Microsoft's Windows OS. Currently (11/16/11), according to marketshare.com (sourced from RealtimeStats.com), Windows accounts for 91.5% of the population with a desktop computer vs Mac at 5.45%. As you can tell, this is HUGE difference, and Apple noticed it. However, Apple's development was very successful in smart phones and mp3 players. The iPhone and iPod took control of the mobile field years ago. With the more recent build of Google's Android OS (which I have), although, Apple is sharing the cellphone market with Google as "top-dog." Still, even with the trends of Android surpassing IOS, IOS is more popularly wanted. Hidden in this text, I am trying to state that Apple decided to cut down its focus on desktops, and move to an economy of mobile devices (ie iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc). Microsoft has tried to claim this market, but as noticed, Windows Phone 7, and Zune were not, even close, as successful as Apple. So, Apple did not stop Mac development and will not soon. Instead, they slowed development as money and focus was placed on the iPad, iPod, and iPhone. I hope that this answered your question.

Check this out. I got a $500 Acer laptop from newegg for $350 with a promo code (something you'll never find on apple products) I replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive and I have a working desktop 9 seconds after I hit the power button.Everything I click on it it come up instantly.I can do anything with this laptop including light gaming.I laugh with idiots that pay over $1500 for a mac and they think they have a superior computer!

All I have to say is this.Ask your self....what is that a $2000 mac can do that a $500 windows computer can't? The answer is nothing. There is a reason Apple does not allow their OS to be installed in any computer, people could see it offers nothing more than windows and they couldn't sell their overpriced toys to preteens and hipsters.I build an $800 computer that makes a mac look like Sunday deal on Kmart.

That was brilliant, don't expect many positive remarks from PC users like me.

No, it's because they have nothing to brag about. They're still assholes, though...bigger ones, in fact.

And before anyone gets their silky little panties in a wad, I use both.
