System32 folder opens on boot up.?

Recently when I start my computer, about as boot is finishing, the Windows Explorer comes up automatically showing the System32 folder. The computer runs normally after that.

This seems to have started with this sequence of events. I used the SATA Wire upgrade kit to move all data from a small hard drive to a new larger one. That seems to have been successful.

At that one program, Nuance PDF Converter, decided I had too many installations. I uninstalled that program and reinstalled it. Now that program works ok but then this effect began. Not really sure if the two things are related. Any ideas?

Update:

This is a Lenovo R60 running WinXP Professional

There are instructions for registry editing on the web (preferably a Microsoft-related source like Technet). You don't have to worry about running "regedit" at all if you don't change anything. If you have to correct an error using Registry Editor (as described for this symptom), highlight the relevant entry under the "Name" column, select Edit (located on the toolbar) and use "Modify...".

That EZ Gig application looks pretty hokey. I suspect that it's the culprit in some way. Also, I'm sure you know that your laptop has USB 2.0 ports (I just mentioned this because Apricorn's "10x faster" marketing hype is misleading to say the very least).
