None but God truly knows the future. Is the Christian faith really a myth as you stipulate. The Bible contains hundreds of detailed prophecies relating to the future of individual nations including Israel, certain cities, and mankind. Other prophecies concern the coming of One who would be the Messiah, the Savior of all who would believe in Him.
It details historical events, its truthfulness and accuracy are subject to verification like any other historical document. Through both archaeological evidences and other writings, the historical accounts of the Bible have been proven time and time again to be accurate and true. Many people have seen results in different areas of their lives here www.uckg.org/uk/?cat=570 videos and articles of real changes..

After 2,000 years Christianity is more alive than ever.... seems unlikely that there is anything left to challenge it... the worst thing is apathy. During wars, church attendance goes through the roof, in times of prosperity numbers dwindle.... maybe if we create a world of comfort, complacency will follow.
Studying church history is fascinating... if only more people were interested... we are all so busy just getting by in the here and now.

Christianity is going to suffer greatly according to the events described in the book of Revelation. Arab/Muslim nations of the Middle East and Northern Africa will unite and attack Europe and the US with the intention of destroying Christianity. (Word War 3) But the Church established by Christ in 33 AD can never be destroyed. However, she will suffer great trials on earth before her glorious perfection in heaven. I agree with what you said about most Christians.

Mythologies have inherent theme either criticizing human nature or attitude. Its aim is to motivate people to remain controlled with his instincts and not to spread his wings to make other suffer. So it may be possible in future there will be lessons in mythology only.
