Do I have a right to collect NYS unemployment?
I was working for Geico in a call center and no longer am because my supervisor told me I can choose the national guard or full time employment. This came up because I missed a drill weekend and one additional day of work. Do I have a valid reason to quit and get unemployment until I have a new job? I filed over a month ago and still haven't received any benefits, why is this?

If you voluntarily quit your job, you don't qualify for unemployment.
Your employer cannot deny you time off to serve in the Guard. That is the law. If he fires you because of that, you would qualify for unemployment.

If you quit you don't get unemployment. He gave you a valid choice, the national guard or your job and you CHOSE the national guard obviously. You don't get unemployment for that, sorry.
Thanks for your service though.

If you quit your job, you are not eligible for Unemployment. No one cares for your reason.
Unemployment is an entitlement not a right.

You quit your job. You are not entitled to unemployment. Stop whining and look for another job.
