Is Firefox better/safer than Internet Explorer?
I've been using IE for as long as I can remember, and I despise Google chrome, but I've heard that Firefox is far superior, and that it stops viruses quickly.
I've had a few problems regarding IE: Re directions to adult sites, viruses, becoming unresponsive if I open more than three tabs, etc.
However, the pros are it's quite a pretty browser to look at (at least, I think it is. It's... neat? Looks clean?) and I know how to use it.
Also, if Firefox is better, where would I download it SAFELY from. I'm always scared of downloading files from the internet in case it's got a virus inside of it!
So, is Firefox better than Internet Explorer?
[Extra info: I'm running Windows XP on a HP Laptop, if that helps in any way.]

No matter what web browser you use, Windows XP is old. Windows XP computers are five times more likely to get a virus or other malware. (See sources.)
Any web browser is better than Internet Explorer. You should try them all out. Since Chrome isn't your thing, there's also Opera, Firefox, and Safari to choose from. As long as you download them from their office sites you won't have to worry about any malware tagging along for the download. (See sources for safe links.)

go to google and type mozilla firefox download
also firefox doesn't stop viruses... your anti-virus software does, try avg... but the best anti-virus is yourself by being smart and know when to avoid clicking on suspicious links...
btw... I don't have issues using Chrome :)
