I was actually talking to an older friend of mine, he is i think somewhere in the 30s and i'm 19. We were talking about this girl that i like and he said that we don't match? I wasn't offended but i'm curious as to how do they know that we don't match even though he doesn't know me well (we only met twice). Help please?

He's giving you his opinion. He doesn't "know" anything. He feels you are too different from one another. He could be right or wrong. It's up to you to decide if you and your girl friend match.
