Anyone else not feeling Christmas this year?

Background: My grandma, who was my world (she was like a mother to me), passed away Nov. of last year. I missed her last Christmas to leave town with my husband. :( Then she died a month before Christmas. I'm just not feeling it this year. My mom came over and put the tree up, even though I could have cared less... but I have two young boys who are looking forward to it. I'm trying to figure out the mediun between me not giving a rats *** about celebrating and putting on a smile for them while they open gifts. Anyone else not feeling Christmas this year? :"(

I'm not feeling Christmas, either. I didn't even feel it last year. It feels like all the spirit is gone. I live in Florida so it doesn't snow and it never feels like Christmas. Then again, my brother and I used to wake up early on Christmas morning at around 4-5 am and open our stockings and wait until our parents woke up. Ever since he turned 17 it hasn't been the same. I'm the only one that still wakes up early. I feel like I lost my Christmas buddy.

    Hey, I'm feeling it!

What you need is some 'me time' .. You need to clear your head, I know exactly how you feel about your Grandmas death, my Grandmas died last year too. She was my world and I could tell her everything and anything and she would listen and advise me in the right direction. When she died I broke my heart!! and I'm only 11 just to let you know. But my family told me that my Grandma wouldn't want me breaking my heart because she was gone. And that's what you gotta think to yourself, Would was Grandma really want me being down and Xmas time? and not giving two monkeys wither my mum came round and put up the tree etc. She would want the best for you and your children, she would say to you "be happy, don't be down and the happiest time of year!" Don't fake a smile as the children open their gifts, make that smile real, make it mean something to the family!.. I 100% understand what your going through and here is my advice -

    1. Get everyone out of the house (Ask your mum or husband to look after the boys)

    2. Run yourself a hot bath....

    3. Relax and forget about all your worries,

    4. When you get out- Get all cosy in your fluffy pj's and make yourself some hot coco!

    5. Sit and unwind while watching a Xmas movie.

    6. When you have finished- Get the children home and write their letters to santa..

    7. Put them to bed and snuggy up to your husband on the sofa and just relax..

I hope this helped get you into the Christmas spirit, and I know how you feel..
