Why do people hold celebrities at such a high rank?

Justin Beiber that, Lady Gaga this, Miley Cyrus, the Jonus brothers.... WHO gives a damn? They can sing! So what. I can sing. And what's up with all these people trying to get famous on youtube? First off, what are the odds out of all of them they get noticed. And secondly, when we're dead and buried in a grave does any of it really matter???? There are way more important things happening in this world. I work at a non-profit organization where we help abused kids (who've undergone horrible, horrible things... things most adults never experience in their lives) Why are people spending all their time obsessing over these celebrities, when they could exert that effort into making a real difference. I don't get this world.

I respect Bette Davis, she was an actress from the 30's. The reason why I respect her, is because her acting has brought me to tears, she has made me laugh. Watching her films have made bad days better,

But I don't understand why for the celebrities of today. Kim Kardishian, why is she famous? She's famous for making a porn vid and getting peed on. Where's her talent, has she worked hard to the position she is now?

I think that people of today have been brainwashed into thinking that is what talent is. I feel sorry for the youth, that is who they look up too.

I lived there for a twelve months and a a million/2, they are certainly good human beings from what I remember. Ventura and Franken are not that extraordinary, as quickly as you seem at extra advantageous than their degree personas. Minnesota has elected human beings like Walter Mondale, Hubert Humphrey, and Eugene McCarthy; and produced human beings like Bob Dylan, Garrison Keillor, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sinclair Lewis, Charles Schultz, and Jay Ward. I sensed no identity crises.

Cause they're objects of The Industry.

Making them this big idols, makes more people wanna pay to see them, buy their CD's, etc.

The people behind this, make money on them.

They are objects of The Industry, because The Industry makes money on them.

    This comes in every genre.

Look at DMX (decided to expose the industry), then look at 50 Cent (doing songs that he didnt even become famous to do). Who do you think has spent jail-time, that they havent even deserved, the most?
