Can I get into Waterloo with just 70%-75%?
I'm in grade 11, first semester. I predict I'll end with something slightly above 70%. Any chance I can get in for a computer engineering or economics? I only have 50 community hours if that matters. Only joined 2 clubs, not the leader of either of them.
forgot to mention that it will be my average mark for grade 11. I can probably pull off an 80%+ in grade 12. But I'm just wondering if grade 11 is important to them that they would disqualify me for my bad marks this year.

Your grade 11 marks really only matter for early admission, so focus more on your grade 12 work. Waterloo does consider volunteer work and extracurriculars when looking at admission. Those factors can only add to your application, not take away from it.
I would say that with a 70-75% average you could get into economics, although it would not be my first choice for that program. (I've taken some of the econ courses at Waterloo). As for computer engineering, I feel like you would need to raise your average in order to gain admission.

Minimum 70's required for all of you HS PRE-Requisites, However, Individual Selection is in the 80's. I'm not sure that Waterloo has an Undergrad in Economics. It's really not know as that type of school - check on their website, though.
Here is the Computer Engineering Requirements from U of Waterloo's website:
Required High School courses
Advanced Functions:
Calculus and Vectors
Chemistry
English (ENG4U)
Physics
A final grade of at least 70% is normally required in each of these courses
Note: Waterloo's admission requirements are expressed in terms of the Ontario high school system, and courses are Grade 12 U courses unless otherwise specified. See Waterloo's minimum admission requirements, Canadian course equivalents, and International equivalents for more details.
