Sidney Crosby: 576 career points
Hall of fame 2011 Inductees:
Doug Gilmore: 1414 career points
Joe Niewendyk: 1126 career points
Mark Howe: 742 career points
Snubs: Pavel Bure: 779 career points
so if Crosby's career ended, he would be sort of like Bure, the next great thing that played great for a few seasons then started getting hurt, missing games, his scoring went down and his game suffered and he retired. I mean if you look at Bure's stats when he was healthy. A 58 and 59 goal season for Florida is not too shabby...
I say Crosby shouldn't get in due to his lack of overall career production. Give him 5 more seasons with the same numbers and then you got an argument.

The hall of repute is so subjective. IF Crosby had to retire i might wager no yet did he captivate a rustic (particularly. Canada) for some years like no different? Yeah, and that on my own could make a argument for him to be inducted rather while he gained a Cup captaining at this sort of youthful age and ideal Canada to a gold in dramatic style. If I had a vote i does not placed him interior the hall yet i does not be pissed if others inducted him.

Would be a freebe if he was to get in. Sure he got a cup and a scoring title but that's not enough. The shortest play time for getting in should remain stuff comparable to Orr or Bossy. ~10years.
Note that these two players both achieved much more than Crosby.

No. Sid may be the best in the game today but the HHOF is based on a career not a couple of years. With three notable exceptions, before a player is even considered for entry into the Hall he must be retired for four years. Since he has only played six years it would be hard to assess a career based on so little time.

I think he has to. Even though the total numbers can't compete with HOF members, his PPG and records have to. He's pretty generally regarded as the best active player, and has for years.
I think he's HOF worthy right now.
