Skyrim question; HUGE problem..?

Ok so I'm on the Forbidden Legend quest and I'm at the "Learn the truth from Daynas Valen", but the way point for the quest leads me into my home Vindrel Hall in Markath. Whats worse is that it's leading me behind my bookcases/wall into are part of my house that doesn't exist! I've tried searching through other building above and below but it keeps telling me I have to be in my house. This is driving me crazy. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I had exactly the same problem the marker is actually pointing to daynas's journal which I picked up from doing a previous quest you must of put it on the bookshelf exactly as I did, once you pick up the journal though reading it doesn't activate the next part of the quest and as far as I know the quest breaks, it just points back to daynas corpse.

It is not recommended to get any skill up to level 100 early in the game as all enemies will level with you as well, as you probably figured out by now. The best thing you can do now is level up some skills that will actually help you in combat, like offensive skills (Destruction, two-handed/one-handed) and heavy armor/light armor. Also, set your difficulty way down, maybe down to Novice, so that enemies are easier to take out, and don't change it back until you are properly leveled in all skills. I would recommend switching to heavy armor; Elven armor does not provide a lot of protection, unless you have the Elven Gilded set. Even regular steel heavy armor provides more protection than full Elven armor, as Elven is just good as light armor, but in your situation I think you need as much protection as you can get. If you used a smithing exploit, then your level might be high enough for you to create Steel Plate or even Ebony armor, which provide much more protection so you won't die as quickly.

I have just RESOLVED this problem. The issue is that you do not have his journal on your person. Odds are you shoved it in a chest somewhere in your house. For me, it was under the floor in Dragonreach because I'd sold it to the wizard vendor. I simply bought it back and the quest objective updated. Then read it and it updated again.

I've done that quest, you just go into the temple right next to where you found the journal. Then hopefully it'll update the quest marker. you sure you on the right selected mission?

    Hope this helps :)

Books better your grammar, reading level, spelling, vocabulary, and generally tend to be educational than T.V.
