★Does anybody else you have their Christmas decorations up already?
We just bought a medium sized, real tree yesterday, and now my whole living room smells like pine trees! although it’s not primarily the one we use, since by the time Christmas is here the all the needles start falling off so we also have a fake one as well.

We don't celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the Winter Solstice. So we do have a tree, because decorated evergreens originated with Solstice traditions.
Our holiday is over by Christmas so we usually spend that day or the day after taking it down.
My husband already put our tree up with the kids. Normally we do it the weekend after T-day, but I'm going to be cooking at my mother's house. So as I was putting away my harvest decorations I figured I'd drag out the holiday stuff.

It would be hypocritical of me to be a vegetarian (partly) because raising livestock large scale is ecologically unsustainable and then kill a living tree for decoration. In San Diego I had a friend who had land and would buy a live tree and then she would plant it after the holiday. Now I have a small artificial tree and it never goes up until the calendar says December. Some years not at all-I have several large plants including a tangerine tree that I decorate instead. When they come down depends on my work schedule.

Currently, we have Thanksgiving/Autumn decorations displayed. I think it's too early for Christmas decorations. A few homes in the area already have some of the Christmas lights up. Traditionally, decorations go up after Thanksgiving. We probably won't put of most of the Christmas decorations until sometime in early December. Then, come January 1st, it all comes down.

I use a pre lighted, artificial tree, 6 ft. tall. It will go up right after Thanksgiving day. It all comes down the 2nd of January.

It's ridiculous to put up decorations for christmas when you haven't even gotten through thanksgiving yet. Sheesh people, calm down, your decorations won't run away if you wait to put them up!
