The D3000 has been discontinued. The Rebel T3 will cost about 500 bucks on amazon... keep in mind if you buy a T3 tomorrow @ Walmart or something 1) Chances are each store only has two or three in stock and 2) You'll only save $20 or $30 over the amazon price, but then you'll have to pay sales tax...

The D3000 is almost 3 years old, T3 was announced a few months ago.

All DSLRs especially this cheap have the same quality. I mean it's not like there is a secret that Nikon makes images look bad. You're the photographer.

I'd get the T3 as it has better high ISO performance, video, live view and is newer.

    Canon T3.

I'm a Canon believer, all the way. Nikon under exposes pictures (making them really dark, but you probably already know that), while Canon over exposes just a touch (making the photos perfect!). The T3 is really easy to use, while the D3000 is not. You get your money's worth in the T3. Canon is an overall great buy.

P.S. I suggest checking out Cnet.com and checking out their reviews. It was a great help for me when buying the Canon t1i!

the D3000 was replaced by the D3100, which is about $50 more than the T3

    choose between those two.
