I didn't cut 1" off bottom of Christmas tree?
that I bought at Lowe's, will it hinder my tree from getting water? I bought it Wed night and put it in water (they did do some cutting at Lowe's not sure if they cut the bottom).
I just put it in the stand this morning (friday) before I put it in I checked the bottom and you can see where the wetness was and where it looked like it absorbed water. I didn't see sap.
I have not had a live christmas tree in a long time and I am worried that it will dry out. They didn't "shake" it at Lowe's and when I took the net off a good bit of needles feel out. It is a Fraser Fir and it does not appear to be dried out.

Remove it from the stand and cut the inch off the bottom. The first several days or more it will suck up close to a gallon. It is an art form and a half to keep a fresh cut tree from Thanksgiving to Christmas. Good luck!
