In studio recording, they were some of the first to do complete studio albums and not tour. They experimented with new sounds and ideas that many before them had not had the chance to do. They helped and influenced so many people through this; and the way we make music today has been effected by it, for example the group Panic At The Disco is influenced by The Beatles music. They are the only band I know to have tribute festivals and weeks dedicated to remembering their music and their lives. They are one of the most recognized bands of the day, and according to parents who lived through "Beatlemania" is that they went from being nothing to being no.1 OVERNIGHT! That means something. They were 4 musicians that grew together and expanded their talents so greatly they all were able to stand on their own after The Beatles fell apart. There are not many bands out there that can say they have all outstanding musicians; the few that can say that are special.
Also through their musical contacts (Clapton, Preston, Dylan, and Petty to name a few) and who they performed and recorded with. Groups like Wings, The Traveling Wilburys, The Plastic Ono Band, and Ringo Starr and His All Star Band would have never been around if The Beatles hadn't met. Thanks to The Beatles rock 'n roll has been changed forever.
It's also the fact of how many artists today have been influenced by them.
