"Hey there little fella, how you doin' this morning?"
The sky is showing signs of light.
"Looks like you had a pretty good night."
A squirrel jumps from limb to limb, watching.
"Say, I'm gonna sit down with ya for a minute, okay?"
Two clouds become one as the sun begins to rise.
"Hey buddy, looks like you got a bit of a rough spot there. Let me have a closer look..."
The squirrel turns its back.
"Awww, sure enough. I can fix that right up."
The soft sound of water in the creek soothes him.
"This won't hurt a bit, lil' puddin'stone..."
He attacks with vigor, humping the rough spot like a crazed dog, his pants shredding down to his skin, his mouth a twisted snarl.
He is spent, at last, and falls backward into the leaves, his mangled crotch exposed, the whites of his eyes quivering under their lids.

This reminds me of when I was a youngster
and attempted to hump the filter of a swimming pool.
My exposed crotchals were bruisy* and the manager of Motel 6 in Reno
pointed our Winnebago to Winnemucca.

My linguistic retardation to the fore. I dont get it.
Man rescues squirrel, man rubs squirrel's "pants" down to shreds, squirrel bites man.
Obviously I went wrong somewhere. How would shredding your own pants help a squirrel, and why is the process so confusing?
Is it possible to convolute a joke to death?
