Different Chicken Drumstick Recipe Ideas?

I am defrosting chicken drumsticks for dinner tonight but I am sick of my same old recipes. Any one want to share some ideas?

Update:

Thank you Jessica and Bookworm for actually posting original/different ideas.

When I fry chicken, we use a different-than-most coating... a nice change if you'd like -

    - 1/2 cup flour

    - 1 cup corn meal

    - 2 tbsp Chinese 5-spice

    - 1 tbsp Cayanne Pepper

    - 1 tbsp Salt and Pepper

Mix all those together, and toss chicken with the mix in a plastic bag. Deep Fry (we use a wok) until golden brown.

    Good Luck

    Gingery Glazed Chicken Drumsticks

    Ingredients:

    1/2 cup chicken broth

1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce

    1/4 cup lemon juice

    3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

    2 tablespoons honey

    2 tablespoons grated ginger root

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

    1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

    3 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken drumsticks

    Preparation:

Combine all ingredients except drumsticks in large bowl. Add drumsticks and turn to coat. Marinate 30 minutes at room temperature, or marinate in the refrigerator, well covered, for 8 to 24 hours. You can marinate for up to 48 hours for even more flavor.

When ready to cook, prepare and preheat grill for indirect cooking. Build a two level fire on a charcoal grill. For a gas grill, heat all the burners, then turn one off.

Drain chicken, reserving marinade. Grill the chicken, moving it around on the grill as needed and turning and brushing with marinade, until chicken registers 165 degrees F. This should take 25-30 minutes. Discard remaining marinade.

    Cheese Stuffed Drumsticks

    Ingredients:

3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened

    1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese

    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    2 Tbsp. dry bread crumbs

    1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning

    1/4 tsp. pepper

    8 chicken drumsticks

    3 Tbsp. butter, melted

    Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease broiler pan and set aside. In medium bowl, combine cheeses, bread crumbs, Italian seasoning and pepper and mix well.

Carefully separate skin from drumstick, starting at wide end and leaving skin attached at the end of the bone. Fill the space between the skin and flesh with about 1 tablespoon cheese filling. Place chicken on prepared broiler pan and brushed with melted butter.

Bake at 375 degrees 50-55 minutes until juice of chicken runs clear and chicken is thoroughly cooked. 4-6 servings

It still uses the mushroom soup but the rest will make it a little different. Chicken in Sour Cream. 8 chicken thighs 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 pinch ground black pepper 1 pinch salt 1 pinch paprika 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup 1/2 package dry onion soup mix 1 cup sour cream 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon dried dill weed option---you can add potatos and carrots if you like to make a complete dish in one. DIRECTIONS Brown chicken in oil(can also add garlic if you like) over medium heat. Place in a 9 x 13 inch greased baking dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika to taste. Combine mushroom soup, onion soup mix, sour cream, lemon juice, and dill weed. Pour over chicken. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour, or until chicken is tender and sauce is brown.

I often use drumsticks for various chicken braises instead of thighs (or white meat breasts) because they'll work the same as thighs but be easier to not eat as much fat.

My favorite is an "East African" chicken braise (see below**) but you can use just about any braising or even stewing recipes to get flavorings, liquids, other ingredients, to use, but then just substitute whole drumsticks instead of thighs, breasts, or even cubes, etc.

Here are a bunch of braised chicken recipes:

** this recipe looks very much like the one I use, but I always make more of the braising sauce (liquids and seasonings) so will be enough for the rice/etc I serve it over...and of course I just use whole drumsticks (usually 6, skinless) instead of the other cuts:

And here's a pic (doesn't do it justice though) of the same recipe using cubed chicken:
