Product or Hack For My Sony Dcr Sr68 to improve sound quality?

If anybody has the sony dcr sr68 u would notice that there is no mic jack in the camera. This makes me pissed because the sound quality only focuses on everything around it instead of the board only. I was wondering if i could plug in a mic to the usb or charger (doubtful) to improve the sound quality. Also if there isnt is there a mic that can be tampered into the camera (i will do this if there is proof) I used to be a tinkerer with stuff like this so i know there is a way. Alright and just wondering if there is anything i can do to improve this camera, i love the quality but there are some cons.

A USB mic won't work. The USB part of the camera does not connect to the sound or video input system.

Since the DCR-SR68 is a hard disc drive, standard definition camcorder, the smartest thing to do is to replace it with a camcorder that has the features you need - including a mic jack and manual audio control.

Another option is to record the audio separately - with a field recorder like the Zome H1, H2 or H4, synch the audio with the video when editing then mute the audio that was captured by the camcorder.

Yes either way will cost, but you risk camcorder failure by "tinkering" - at which point you have nothing.

Your television will could have a video out or exhibit out. If it would not have that, you likely can could connect the camcorder on the instant to the video source (like your cable container or vcr). Then concurrently press rec and the button on it is suited (the button without a lable) to recording
