Ok, all of these cell phones but...?
Do any really bring anything new to the table? I've got an original droid - it's great. Rooted and running custom roms yada yada.
I get a call from my carrier about an early upgrade. After talking with her about potential phones, the question hit me: "Why all these new phones that just randomize the same feature packages in a different shape or color or form factor?" Where is the innovation?
Flash did wonders for smart phones. It made web browsing on your android and iPhone a near PC experience. But I'm trying to find a valid reason why I should upgrade if there is any. Now I know apps can do a lot, but i'm talking built in features specific to that phone model.
Higher res cameras, faster processors, and longer battery life do not justify an upgrade for me. Are there any features out there that really push the evelope? (Voice command has been around for a long time so I do NOT consider SIRI to be a worthy reason to upgrade either).

i agree with u (except the iphone having flash part, thats not true unfortunately for the iphone owners). The main thing ive noticed is that they are mainly trying to outdo each other in the camera (they do try) and hd video recording department most of all.
Maybe we have just gotten to the stage where theres nothing really new as far as mobile features go, they will just try to better the features.
Nfc is new-ish. Tho i dont see the use of it, im sure others do.
I too have found my 'holy grail' of phones. Thats it for me i think. My phone does absolutely everything i have ever wanted and needed a phone to ever do. So i have no interest in getting a newer phone just to keep up with forever changing trends.
But who knows, one of them might surprise us in the future.

If any of them now offer 'Dragon Speak Easy" software as a feature software, and...voice recognition for typing (which none have yet), then I'd choose that one. That would be a plus for those of us who write online so that we could be on the go all the time. A smartphone that is also a dictaphone would be awesome. Then I'd need the "drive you to where you need to go" feature so I could talk and type while not having to drive myself.
Yeah, we have a long ways to go.

No, airplane mode isn't silent mode. In silent mode the phone is predicted to paintings yet not make noise (ring, key tones, notification tones) even as on airplane mode the phone does not enable any of the radios to paintings (i.e. it behaves as if no SIM card is accessible) as a outcome allowing you to apply the PDA area of a telephone even interior the airplane, the position otherwise using the phone is illegitimate as a results of worry of radio interference. My suggestion is to in no way use the airplane profile or maybe as interior the airplane ask the flight attendants even if using the phone in that mode is danger-free. As for something else of your lengthy tale (I actually have not examine all of it) I actually have few words for you: examine the person's guide, a tree change into killed to have that printed so the least you may do is examine it once.
