Do i need ram? Something else for my laptop? idk.?

I play the sims 3 and i downloaded a few items from the exchange list on the sims 3 website. i have an inspiron 14 laptop,3GB memory, 250GB hard drive. Once i downloaded the items to my game, the game freezes up here and there like every 2 seconds. It didnt do this before. Any idea what the problem may be?

    3gb memory is enough for a game like sims3.It surely has got nothing to do with the ram.

    Try disabling your anti-virus when you play, but make sure you are not connected to internet when you do. Have Fun!
