I am petrified of the Dentist, please help!!?

I know that the best idea is to go to the dentist but i need some advice for that.

I think my Wisdom Teeth are coming through. There is pain at the back of my mouth, it feels like it is coming from my ears, Jaw.... i also have a big mouth ulcer come up on the top of my mouth. I have been using all my mouth washes and i have some ointment to rub on my gums that helps for a little bit.

Is this my wisdom tooth coming though. The pain has been there for about 3 days now and it was really bad last night but today isnt as bad.. Help me

    LOL egnore that idiots remark......

How old are you? Wisdom teeth apparently come through after 21. I've not been dentist for 11 years and i have white teeth. i brush 5-8 times aday on the cavities that i have like after sugary food. 1 has rotted and ive never had tooth ache because ive kept it clean ''not many people know about that trick'' there is only half of it left. i need a few fillings but apart from that i'm not doing bad. I'm finally getting the courage and next year i think im gunna go. Once I'm in their I just say '' I hate dentist so can you just numb it straight away please '' 1 injection; once it's numb you can relax because you will not feel ewt. you just have to think that once its numb you dnt have to worry. if its wisdom teeth that need removing then try go hospital to go to sleep. that what i used to do if u are truly scarred. you get transfered from the dentist. good luck

Look as hard as it seems you need to phone up and make an appointment with your own dentist.

Nothing will happen at this appointment other than a examination and an xray. Both of these are not invasive so no need to panic at this stage.

It is very important that you do this now in case the origin is infective and it gets a lot worse quicker and you find yourself in a worse predicament.

Even if it is infective it will need nothing more at this stage than antibiotics.

Take some Rescue Remedy before you go and when you get there discuss your fears and have a chat about sedation dentistry if treatment is needed later on.

Your wisdom tooth/teeth could be impacted and be decaying in your jaw . They need extracted .

Best advice is make an appt and go . They will only x-ray and examine you . If they need removed ask for sedation in a Hospital . But dont sit suffering this week .

The thing to remember about the dentist is that even if you experience pain in that chair, it won't be anything close the the pain you already have, the reason your are in the chair in the first place. Don't know much about wisdom teeth, I didn't have problems with mine.

    (IGNORE THE STUPID PEOPLE)

LOL, so am I, but don't worry! They numb it down :) And usually ask you to put your hand up if it hurts (If it does than just do it) I've had teeth pulled too, it just feels.. I don't how to say it 'tugggy' I guess. Lol. My sister has had this done too. But if you only ThinK you feel pain, it might just be the pulling (It feels strange) :P But if you DO feel pain, put your hand up, and they'll just give you another needle.

You'll be fiiine, don't stress, believe it or not, stressing can make the pain worse

You'll be okee, it's over soon enough :)

Well the first appointment usually isnt to start pulling things out.

Keep that in mind and will help. There isnt really a nice way of saying anything about the dentist.

Sometimes if they play music while they poke around helps.

Just be strong and get it over with and you will be ok.

Just remember when you get there that if they put the numbing shot in or gell and ask if you can still feel anything tell them YES so they put more in. :)

Yes that is your wisdom teeth. No there is nothing to be scared of. They numb your mouth and you won't even feel them pull the tooth out. Relax, there is nothing to be scared of and after it's all done you will be so glad you did it.

When you go for the 1st time, they will most likely give you antibiotic's and something for the pain. When you do go, Ask for the Gas, it will help you relax, and I do not go without it as I am a chicken myself..just hate needles. Take your music so you have something nice to calm yourself. But please don't let it go too long, it is VERY dangerous for your health. I am rooting for you....No punn intended...lol
