What do you call a name to be used in daily life?
In holland we have names like this:
Johannes Petrus van Vliet. Johannes and Petrus are names given to the child at baptism. In daily life this person would be called Johan. In holland we call this a Roep naam (a calling name)
a nickname is similar, but can vary from person to person and is not used for official purposes. a first name can be any of the 3 first names, not necesarily the ones used in daily life. (or a shortend form there of) given names are even more oficial i think.
is there a similar thing in English? whats it called?

we call it a nickname or we say what do you like to be called,,theres no official term for it
