why does android take up 98% of my battery usage?

I have a Samsung cell phone which I use for text and also Facebook. Must Android take up that much BATTERY usage?

    Because it is a phone and phones need to use up charge.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "take up 98%" means, but your phone IS a computer, if your not managing running apps correctly your battery life will suffer. Get a auto task killer, make sure your screen isn't all the way up. Make sure WiFi and GPS aren't always on if you don't need them and your phone should have no issues making it back home at the end of the day with battery to spare.

    its a fact that all android phones drain the battery life quickly. i think the app makers make the app heavy so the battery goes down quicker.
