Problems with ipod & earphones?

Does anyone know why my earphones won't play in my ipod? They're not Apple earphones, but I've used them in it before, and the earphones aren't broke because I just tried listening to music on my phone, and they're fine.

I haven't used my ipod in months because I'd lost it, and now when I put the earphones I can't hear the songs properly. (I can hear the music, but not the actual singing, and it sounds like a bad recording)

Anyone got any suggestions as to what it could be?

Oh and my ipod works fine in the speakers. :/

    Your Earphones are bad..

Does the sound resemble a echo like--off balance sound..?

That means your INPUT-jack is not lining up properly inside the iPOD--input/socket..

Try a different set of earphones..

..or attempt to clean out the iPOD..socket/

The hole is very small--nothing really fits in there for cleaning..

I have connection problems with my MP3 Players..

    I use 2--the iPOD and a DELL DJ/jukebox

If I use a 90-degree/adapter..the earphones don't seem to connect into the adapter for playback..

    If I remove the 90-degree/adapter..and just plug-in my earphone--directly--

    The music playback is fine.

Source(s): Look at the earphone jack--(stem).. There are 2-ribbons..these are for LEFT&RIGHT.. Those 2-ribbons are NOT lining up properly.. Inside the iPOD--socket.. Try another set of earphones.
