Since the state mandates insurance for all drivers shouldn't the state help lower income people with insurance needs?
The vehicles I own are all dated 85,96 and 02. I pay $48 a month for liability on all 3. I bet if I hit somebody my insurance wouldn't pay anyway. They use all that money to continuously show a little lizard on tv 24 hours a day. Why should I be forced to pay for insurance. Is this Russia?

Insuring each car is protecting you from absorbing the cost of a claim. You do not insure yourself, you insure the vehicles. If you are in an accident which is your fault, and you injure someone, then your liability insurance protects you up to your limits of liability so YOU don't have to pay out of your own pocket.
If you honestly think your insurance company wouldn't "pay" if you had a claim, then I suggest finding a new insurance company, agent or broker that you trust. I agree to an extent, the insurance industry really does need some sort of reform and restrictions on how much we pay to be insured. Right now, the market solely depicts the costs we incur to protect ourselves.

Because vehicles are insured individually. Why should taxpayers subsidize lower income people's insurance costs? You choose to drive, it is a privilege granted by the state. You choose to own multiple vehicles. I own multiple vehicles and pay a lot more than $48 a month to insure them.
