Do endowed Mormon women technically hold the priesthood too?
I've been wondering about it for a while, but haven't done too much reading on the subject yet. Just from the little that I have it seems like it could take a bit longer than idle curiosity would last. A few of the quotes I've come across that seem to back the idea up are:
"It is a precept of the Church that women of the Church share the authority of the priesthood with their husbands, actual or prospective; and therefore women, whether taking the endowment for themselves or for the dead, are not ordained to specific rank in the priesthood. Nevertheless, there is no grade, rank, or phase of the temple endowment to which women are not eligible on an equality with man."
- James E. Talmage
"The Order and Duties of the Priesthood" reaffirmed that women "hold the Priesthood, only in connection with their husbands, they being one with their husbands"
- Apostle John Taylor
"You shall be blessed with your portion of the Priesthood which belongeth to you, that you may be set apart for your Anointing and your induement endowment."
-Hyrum Smith's blessing to Leonora Cannon Taylor
"These blessings are yours, the blessings and power according to the Holy Melchi[z]edek Priesthood you received in your Endowments, and you shall have them."
-Joseph Young's blessing to Brigham Young's daughter
“gave a lecture on the priesthood shewing how the Sisters would come in possession of the privileges & blessings & gifts of the priesthood & that these signs should follow them, such as healing the sick, casting out devils &c. & that they might attain unto these blessings….”
-Joseph Smith's diary
Apparently there's also something about the robes of the priesthood worn during the endowment, but since I'm kind of rusty on my Mormon rituals and haven't read much yet I'm not sure what they have to do with anything..
"Women CANNOT hold the priesthood under any circumstances."
Mind backing that up with something? I'm trying to get as much information for each side as I can without spending any signifigant amount of time on it. The less I have to dive into the D&C or track down any journals or lectures the better. :)

Complicated question but the whole purpose of being endowed is being endowed with power from on High. So, women do hold a smaller portion of priesthood power, but not as significant or noticeable as men. Being said that most priesthood roles in Biblical times were assigned to men. But there are plenty of examples found in the scriptures of women being given dreams and visions. For example, Anna foresaw the mission of Christ and called a prophetess. Miriam the sister of Moses was also labeled as a prophetess. However, a lot of the ordinances such as sacrifice as well as administering specific ordinances were left in the hands of the men.
While I don't have any authority to lay hands and give blessings for the sick, as my father has done. There are some situations where a woman can assist their husbands. For example, one time I was really, really sick and my mother couldn't get any one from our ward, to come by and give me a blessing. All the priesthood holding men were either at work, sick themselves, or she couldn't get in touch with anyone over the phone., my mom quietly assisted my father as he laid his hands on my head and gave me a blessing. She didn't pronounce any blessing on me but she merely stood their and assisted him. But that was a very rare instance that has happened in my life.
I am convinced that women have a lot of gifts of God in their position as well. I've had my own personal experiences with such things myself.

That's a deep subject that studying will take more time than idle curiosity will last for.
The quickest answer is yes they may hold the priesthood, you've given plenty of evidence of this.
But the nature and extent and nuances of what this means is where you're delving into deep doctrine. There are differences between holding the priesthood and duties of the priesthood. There are differences between having the priesthood and exercising the priesthood. There are differences between being ordained (or foreordained) to hold the priesthood and actually holding it. And then there is a discussion of priesthood keys.
The best place for a member to start would be the temple endowment. And for a nonmember the best place to start is to understand what the priesthood is.

Basically your quotes show that women may receive all the benefits, privileges and blessings of the priesthood without having to bear the burdens, responsibilities, and work involved in being technically ordained to the priesthood. That about sums it up.

Isaiah, who was a Priest, was married to a Priestess, and they had children together as man and wife.
A devout woman who is a member of THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints who keeps the commandments of Jesus Christ is by definition a Priestess of Jesus Christ.
This is different than being a Priest, but it is no less honorable or powerful, when it comes to doing goodness and righteousness among the children of men.
The Universe itself is a balance between the feminine and the masculine, and that is so for all creation in all the Universes that now exist or ever will exist. Therefor a man must marry a worthy woman to become Himself a part of the highest Heaven in the life after this life, in the same Heaven that Jesus Christ dwells in.
Without both Man and Woman, no creation is possible. All creations in a Universe, and a Universe itself, requires both a male creator, and a female creator, who are both married to each for all time and eternity, together forever, Worlds without end.
God bless.

That's kind of a loaded question. Women are not allowed to hold the priesthood in of itself. The offices of the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood are only to be held by men. But, women ARE considered equal in marriage to their husband. Their taught to support their husband and keep them strong. And even though men hold the priesthood, we are ordered not to abuse our status or believe we are superior in any way to our wives.
And women are pivatol members of the Church. Almost all teaching offices are held by women...i.e. Primary, Young Adults, Seminary etc. And Relief Society (women's group) do a lot of the day-to-day stuff in the church. They are every bit as important as the men. And in my experience, they tend to be more spiritually receptive. Just attend a Fast Sunday, and see how many of those bearing testimony are women.

While I do not know about that. Here are some thoughts for you about the Church and men and women.
Men need to be given the priesthood as part of preparing them to be able to go on a mission.
Women do not.
Men need to be given the priesthood as part of preparing them to be able to enter into the temple.
Women do not.
Men need to be have the priesthood to be able to serve as a worker in the temple.
Women do not.
Men need to be married with a living wife to be able to serve a mission after they have retired.
Women do not.

Women are suppose to be born with it, and this priesthood is called child birth...but since Eve suffers from pain in child birth how can Mormons say this is a priesthood and that depravity/original sin nature does not we exist???
@Diz and Sandy so what are Mormons teaching you these days??? It was all Eve's fault???
I was taught that Eve had to sin or I would not be able to become a Goddess. So Diz you don;t see the sexism in believing that you can only get to heaven through a husband??? or if Jesus choses to call you???
@ASKER they cannot hold what they already have.
