God's Kingdom does not consist of the physical structure of the planet Earth or buildings upon them. In the verse you refer to Jesus refers to a spiritual kingdom. All Christian are a part of this spiritual kingdom, and like a kingdom it has different administrations or functions. This is very much similar to the organization of the human body that all parts work together to accomplish a goal or objective--such as writing this post. Paul refers to the church as the body of Christ, and compares it to the human body with different administrations and abilities. We are also told to overcome evil with good.

While it not necessary for Christian to get involved in politics it is possible to enable good through the political process. The important thing is to do righeousness, meaning: doing what is right and encouraging others to do so also. This in and of itself can make a better world as more people obey God and do what is pleasing to God. As more people turn to God impending judgements can be avoided for the good of individuals and society as a whole. Many people are concerned as to whether or not these are the Last Days. Indeed we are told that the end will not come except that there be a great falling away. This verse should taken as a warning, and an encouragement that the oncoming of the end of time can be prevented right now, and the great falling away can be prevented, right now, right now, right now. The future can continue to improve as people improve and do what is right. God does not desire a physical kingdom but a spiritual kingdom in the hearts of mankind.

The Bible tells us this promise: You shall seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. ---- Jer. 29:13

A favorite song...Christian song has the following verse:

This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through; and if it weren't for Jesus, I don't know what I'd do...

In the Scouts...BS of A we always tried to leave our campsite "better than we found it".

The answer to your question is along those two lines...we are not permanent residents here, and look forward to the establishment of a "heavenly kingdom" in which the rule of Jesus is not the exception, but the norm. We also need to strive to improve, or at least to help slow down the deterioration of things in this world. We are to be "salt, and light". Politics is one more arena in which to influence the world for good. Politics will never be mistaken for our savior, but it should not be shunned as the enemy either. God establishes authority for our good, whenever possible. If there are no christians involved, how good is it going to be?

Well, it says to pray for our leaders and you probably already know that. He does tell us not to be of this world, but we shouldn't be ignorant of what is going on. Me personally, it would be very hard to be a Christian and a Politician because this world will suck you in, that is why it is best to stay out of it.

What does light have to do with darkness?

I would still vote, although the presidential voting is based on the electoral votes. So, they are going to do what they want to do anyways.

In the Old Testament, we find David, Solomon, and Hezekiah that were kings.

However, in the New Testament, we find no such examples.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. 1 Corinthians 1:26

It is very important that they have a monopoly on "eligibility to run" Atheists can't participate in politics because we are too smart for the theists who won't let us run because we know no gods or devils exist!

    very important

this isnt our world but that being said we cant let corruption come into this world so that it becomes harder for us and our children and their children to walk with Christ in a more fuller relationship.
