DVD player has sound but no picture?

I recently had to change out TV because it flat lined. So replacement works fine, but I cannot get the DVD player to show up on tv. I got close the other night, because I got sound, but no picture. The dvd player itself works perfectly, but it's something with the lines; ie., line IN/OUT, or the channel setting that I cannot figure out. I went to channels 02, 03, "line1" "line 2" and "SVHS" manually changing it on the tv. I have also played with the TV remote, and hit the "tv/dvd" button on the dvd remote. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Also: TV is NOT a flat screen, or HDTV if that matters--conventional box type tv set.

Some dvd /tv's need a s video plug.

With out it you will get sound but no picture.

Take a look at back of dvd player/tv for a plug in called s video.

Brand name of the troubled DVD player and the televisions they're hooked up to, would be helpful.

Maybe you have the video input selection wrong.

Also, some TVs take preference over which video input is used in an input group. If that's the case, you'd have to disconnect the other inputs that are not from the DVD player.

You can use BlazeVideo HDTV Player

Get the sound back on the TV. Then check what source you have selected. Look at the back of the TV, and make sure that you have connected the video from the DVD player to the video input for that source.
