Preterite or Imperfect? Spanish help please!!?
I know that this sentence is imperfect:
Everyday I followed the same routine.
But I am not sure about this sentence that comes right after... Does it link back to the first sentence?
I got up very early.

Your emphasis is the series of actions that constitute your routine...a series requires the preterit to make it clear that one action follows another. Here I'll put a series in both a context where it occurs once (a clear-cut case for the preterit) and then a series done over an indefinite period (a case, like yours that you might think requires the imperfect, but it's better in the preterit). If it weren't a series, then you might consider the imperfect, depending on the context and the verb.
El 12 de marzo 2006 me acostumbré a mi rutina: me desperté, me lavé y me fui. Desde aquel día en adelante seguía la misma rutina: me desperté, me lavé y me fui.
