Some of my favorite rappers...definitely Pac Div, their really creative and have a nice west-coast flow. As for heavier rap i'd say Canibus, great song is dead by design, but he's really smart and talks a lot about science so it's not always easy to understand, the whole heavy mental album by Killah Priest, RZA on 'sunlight' from the wu tang album 8 Diagrams. liquid swords album by gza is pretty good as well, especially the 'i gotcha back'. And i think you'll like Kendrick Lamar, his album section.80 is pretty great!
