Re-installed Java but it doesn't work?
I un-installed my 32 bit java in my computer that runs windows 7 and is supposed to have a 64 bit java. I re-installed the correct java but it doesn't work. I can find the new java in the programs and checked the java control panel and verified that it is set on windows. What am I missing ? Thank you for any help.
The Internet Explorer in my computer is the 64 bit version. I used the java for some games on line. To play the game is said I needed to down load java. There company installed the 32 bit version. I accidentally deleted my 64 bit version of Java. Since then I haven't been able to get either Java to work now.

You do not have to have 64bit Java. You can run the 32 bit version just fine. But what exactly did you install, just the regular Java client? This only runs when you use a program or web site that calls on it to run and then you get the little coffee-cup type Java icon down in the system tray.
Of course this is not the same thing as Java script on web sites.
If it is not working then you may have a registry error. To clean up the problem, try this.
-Clean the computer of unnecessary temp files (http://www.ccleaner.com)/
-Uninstall Java and Restart the computer (this step is important!)(Start, Shutdown, Restart) do not shut-down, this will cause the process to be incomplete.
-ReInstall Java, restart the computer
It should work now in most cases, if it does not then there may be something else going on. Also ensure you are invoking it correctly such as going to a web site that calls it to run or if you have a way of launching it yourself (including running all the time, if desired- just not recommended).
Can you describe how you are using Java, like when you expect it to be there (show up on your screen). This could be helpful in determining why you are not getting the result you are expecting.
Thanks.

Do you have the SDK7? Having windows 7 does not mean you can support a 64 bit program, because there is also a 32 bit version of Win7. If you have a Mac you may also run into problems. You will find Java in the add remove programs. If you're trying to write code you will need a compiler as well, to run programs it should run just fine, just remember to restart.

Your big mistake was uninstalling it, you should put the new one in over it, they use some of the old one in the new one.
