Pad or notebook/laptop?

What relative advantages do pads have compared to notebooks or laptops (for that matter, what's the difference between notebooks and laptops)? I do quite a bit of writing, so will probably want something that can have a full size keyboard plugged into it from time to time. I'll be wanting to surf the net, maintain a website, access things like Google Earth, etc.

Well, the only advantage I think an Ipad has over a notebook is his weight. In a laptop you can have a full keyboard, typing is far more confortable, the CPU, memory is better, you can do a lot of multitasking on it. I don't think you should pay for an Ipad otherwise than if you already have a laptop and you want something lighter and maybe cooler to use in tight places:)

A pad is very light as he said, that's the only advantage.

The hardware isn't good compared to laptops.

I also want to add that a notebook and a laptop are not the same.

This site explains the differences very well.

I recommend buying a laptop, you can do about anything with it.
