If you get a burning smell from a laptop?

Is it something that can be fixed? Or is it better to get a new one?

Update:

Yeah! I know Macs are the best. But what's the NEXT best to buy?

It means that ur laptop is overheating. this is caused by restricted airflow on the bottom of the laptop. u can put it on a desk which usually works or buy a small notebook sized platform thing that has a fan in it that helps cool down ur laptop. when this happens to me, i usually lift up my laptop off of my lap for a minute till it cools down. hope this helps!

Better to buy a new one, unless its something outside the computer thats causing the smell.

It just means its over heating or there is something in the fan. Get one of those laptop coolers. Or a new one

you are most likely covering up the fan at the bottom, so that no heat can escape and it's burning plastic on the inside get one off these now!

it will allow the fan to keep going and you will still be comfy.
